This switch device is provided with an operation shaft 38 coupled with a movable electrode 34 capable of moving in connecting and disconnecting direction, a pair of coils 29, 30 surrounding the operation shaft 38 and arranged in the connecting and disconnecting direction via a prescribed distance, a disk-formed repulsion member 37 which tightly adhered to the operation shaft 38 and arranged between both coils 29, 30, and which drives the operation shaft 38 by moving in the contacting direction by electromagnetic repulsion when the coil 30 of one side is electrified and by moving in the separating direction by the electromagnetic repulsion when the coil 29 of the other side is electrified, and a toggle link mechanism 42 in which the one end of the link 43 is coupled with the operation shaft 38, and inversed by driving in both directions of a repulsion member 26, and which retains the movable electrode 34 of the operation shaft 38 in the respective states that the operation shaft 38 is connected with a stationary electrode 33, or that it is separated from the stationary electrode 33.
