To provide an optical/mechanical switch which is miniaturized and speedily switchable and has the high quality of an optical signal.

A plurality of guides 14 are formed on the front side of a board 13, and sliders 12 for holding an optical fiber 11 is arranged along the guides 14. The sliders 12 are moved to the right and left by wires 15 driven by pulleys 16-1. Similarly, a plurality of guides are formed in a vertical direction on the rear side of the board 13 and sliders for holding an optical fiber are arranged along the guides and driven in the vertical direction of the graphic. Thus, the optical fibers arranged on both of the surfaces of the board 13 are moved straight on a coordinate axis orthogonal to each other. These sliders 12 are moved fast by a motor 20 and positioned continually and precisely by minute operation by minute actuator mechanism belonging to themselves.
