Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch capable of wide application using light.SOLUTION: A switch 1 comprises: light emitting means 9 for emitting light; light receiving means 11 for receiving light from the light emitting means; a switch knob 13 including a light transmissive part 19 capable of transmitting light and a light shielding part 21 capable of shielding light; and light guiding means 15 for transferring light. The switch 1 is provided with a plurality of switch knobs. In a first state, the light guiding means, the light transmissive parts of the plurality of switch knobs are arranged between the light emitting means and the light receiving means so as to guide light from the light emitting means to the light receiving means, and the light receiving means is in a state for receiving the light from the light emitting means. In a second state, a position of at least one light shielding part of the plurality of switch knobs is changed from the first state to the position of the light transmissive part so that the light from the light emitting means is blocked and the light receiving means does not receive light from the light emitting means. The switch controls an apparatus by switching between the first state and the second state.
