Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize both a control operation and a temperature protection function which corresponds to a number of loads by mounting a power element with an over-temperature-breaking means for breaking current supply on the same substrate or an enclosure.
SOLUTION: Power elements (MOS-FET) 113-118 with an overtemperature automatic breaking function are mounted on a ceramic substrate 101, and a metal substrate 102 and are arranged in a box (enclosure) 110. Then, a wiring pattern is printed onto a substrate for electrical connection. In this case, power elements for a small current and for a large current are distributed to MOS-FET groups 113 and 114 or the like with overtemperature automatic breaking function and MOS-FET groups 115, 116, 117 or the like, respectively for grouping, and the thermal resistance of each group is changed, thus preventing automatic breaking in a steady load and operating an automatic breaking function in an abnormal current that is set to several times larger with respect to a steady load and hence allowing overtemperature protection to function fully.
