To use a simple device for reducing the gearing noises of an always-meshing parallel shaft gear mechanism type transmission when the transmission is in a neutral condition and an engine is in an idling condition.
On a synchronizer ring SR which is provided as a synchronizing device on a meshing clutch CR for the parallel shaft gear mechanism type transmission, a linear ring 5 is mounted which is coiled around a cone face CF of a loosely fitting gear R2. A shaft on which the meshing clutch CR is installed is stopped when the transmission is neutral. The front end of the linear ring 5 has contact the cone face CF of the loosely fitting gear R2 being rotated to impart rotating resistance to the loosely fitting gear R2 during the neutral condition, thus suppressing the occurrence of gearing noises at this time. When the transmission performs power transmission, the synchronizer ring SR is rotated and the front end of the linear ring 5 is set apart from the cone face CF with centrifugal force. This cancels the rotating resistance of the loosely fitting gear R2 without increasing transmission loss during power transmission.
