To make it possible to easily hold articles in a container and to easily take out articles from the container and to surely and effectively carry out substituting operation by inert gas.
The synthetic resin-made packaging container 10 has a bottom face part 1 on which the articles are mounted, longitudinal directional side wall parts 2, 2 and short side directional side wall parts 3, 3 continuously formed so as to stand up from the peripheral edge of the bottom face part and opens upward. The bottom face part has a folding part 5 formed foldably substantially linearly along the longitudinal directional side wall parts. The short side directional side wall parts have partially cutout parts 4 near both the ends of the folding part. Thereby, the space between the longitudinal directional side surface parts facing each other via the folding part can be widened and narrowed and it is possible to easily hold the articles in the container and to easily take out the articles from the container. Further, it is possible to surely and effectively carry out the substituting operation by the inert gas through the cutout parts in a short time.
