Abstract:
To enable extraction of a larger volume from a lithium ion secondary battery which is used as a power source of a device when the device requires the volume.SOLUTION: An embodiment is a charging system of a lithium ion secondary battery (battery) which is used as a power source of a device. The system includes: a selection unit which selects either charge mode of a first charge mode for charging the battery when operating the device and a second charge mode for charging the battery when operating the device in such a manner that the battery volume becomes larger than in the first charge mode; a set unit which sets a target volume when charging by the second charge mode; and a temperature control unit which, when charging by the second charge mode, controls the battery to a higher set temperature than in the first charge mode. The temperature control unit determines the set temperature based on the target volume set by the set unit and the relationship between the temperature and the volume of the battery.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
