Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make a prediction sure by obtaining a predicted value by using the data of a sample point in a line before or behind the line in which a sample point to be predicted and the nearest, out of sample points whose color sub- carriers are in-phase with the that of the sample point to be predicted. CONSTITUTION:A color video signal having the color sub-carrier is sampled with a frequency (n) (n is an integer >=2) times as much as the frequency of the color sub-carrier, and A/D-converted by an A/D converter 12, then, the data of the nearest point out of the sample points on a scanning line just before or just behind the scanning line of the data to be predicted and in-phase with the phase of the color sub-carrier of the data to be predicted are used and a predictive coding is executed by a scanning converter 14 and a predictive coder 16. Next, at the time of a predictive decoding, the data of the nearest point out of the sample points on the scanning line just before or just behind the scanning line of the data to be predictively decode and in-phase with the phase of the color sub-carrier of the data to be predictively decoded are used and a predictive decoding is executed by a predictive coding decoder 22 and inverse scanning converter 24.
