To provide a system and a method for contract capable of making a contract very easily with a financial institution without requiring for a user to directly visit a shop or an unmanned shop of the financial institute.

This contract system comprises a contract accepting center having a contract accepting means for accepting the application of contract from the portable terminal of the user through a communication network and an information transmission means for transmitting various information to the portable terminal, a contract processing center having a contract acceptabilty judgment means for examining the user to judge the acceptability of approval of contract and a contract control means for controlling the contract acceptabilty judgment means, and a plurality of contract entrusted shops to which the processing for procedure on the contract is entrusted from the financial institution. When the contract acceptability judgment means approves the temporary contract, the user visits the contract-entrusted shop and, based on the identification information of the portable terminal and the identification information of the user, judges whether the contract acceptability judgment means approves a formal contract or not.
