Abstract:

To provide a method for prolonging a useful life of an optical sensor.

A method for prolonging a useful life of an optical sensor includes a step 1302 of constituting the optical sensor so that a duty cycle of a radiation source of a sensor is less than 100% over a continuous period in which the sensor periodically acquires data regarding a test body. An indication molecule of the optical sensor is not excited for the whole of the continuous period in which it is necessary for the sensor to supply data regarding existence or concentration of a substance by operating the sensor.
