Abstract:
To simplify attachment/detachment of a tab to/from a workpiece, and to make a weld bead shape of a weld starting end area proper.
A tab device includes tab driving means 5 and 11 for movably supporting and driving a tab 13 from a standby position in which a welding arc is started in such a manner that a leading end surface of the tab faces a starting end of a workpiece W in relative displacement of the tab 13, a welding torch 1 during welding and the workpiece W and that the tab faces a leading end of the welding torch, to a receding position in which the leading end surface is separated from the welding torch 1 and the workpiece in the direction y of the relative displacement, and from the receding position to the standby position.
