To provide a tape cassette capable of making a tape printer correctly detect a kind of a tape.
A guide hole 47 and a roller support hole are provided between an outline of a cassette case 31 and tape storage areas 400, 410. The guide hole 47 and the roller support hole are provided on both ends of a diagonal line connecting a second corner part 322 and a fourth corner part 324. When the tape cassette 30 is mounted to a cassette mounting part 8, the guide hole 47 and the roller support hole are respectively inserted with a tape drive shaft 100 and a guide shaft 120. A bottom plate 306 of the cassette case 31 is provided with a rear index part 900 which indicates the kind of the tape by a combination of a non-pressing part 901 and a pressing part 902.
