To provide a tape cassette which can decrease rotational load generated when a tape roll is rotated.
In the tape cassette 30, a second tape spool 41 on which a film tape 59 is wound is stored in a cassette case 31. The second tape spool 41 is supported rotatably in the cassette case 31 by an upper base part 581 and a lower base part 583 inserted into a shaft hole 41A. The upper base part 581 has a first diameter part 581A brought into contact with the upper end edge of the shaft hole 41A and a second diameter part 581B extending downward from the first diameter part 581A and with a smaller diameter than that of the first diameter part 581A and a tapered part 581C. The lower base part 583 has a first diameter part 583A brought into contact with the lower end edge of the shaft hole 41A and a second diameter part 583B extending upward from the first diameter part 583A and with a smaller diameter than that of the first diameter part 583A and a tapered part 583C.
