PURPOSE: To make operation of a telecontrol equipment necessary minimum by inhibiting outputting of voice signals regarding it as unnecessary control item for a control item to which a command indicating that control is not made is given repeatedly.
CONSTITUTION: When a user makes channel selection and setting of starting time of picture recording and picture recording time from a remote public telephone 1 without rewinding a videotape recorder 4, a counter is stepped successively. When telecontrol is made when the count value of a counter became above three, a microcomputer in the recorder 4 makes the counter +1, and at the same time, generates a voice signal 'rewinding is not made', and makes operation of rewinding unnecessary. When the value of the counter exceeds five, the voice signal 'rewinding is not made' is not generated, and setting of channel, starting time of picture recording ad picture recording time is requested.
