To obtain a telephone set with the hand-free calling function which is easy for a person lying in bed, etc., to use.
A telephone set 1 with the hand-free calling function is equipped with a hand-free relay 11 which breaks a relay contact 12 associatively with the activation of the hand-free calling function. The relay contact 12 is interposed in the power supply path of a television 13 and once the hand-free function is activated, the television 13 is forcibly powered OFF. Then a hand-free call can smoothly be made without being disturbed by noise such as television sound, etc.
