PURPOSE: To reduce the number of times of the dial operations of a caller without registering anything on an abbreviated dial or one-action dial button when making a telephone call concerning a telephone set provided with display, telephone set dedicated to PBX, key telephony equipment and various dialers.

CONSTITUTION: History for each called telephone number is recorded in a storage part 5, and the latest call time (year, month, day, hour and minute), speaking time (cumulative) and number of times of speaking (cumulative) are stored. A control part 6 retrieves the storage part 5 by using a number detecting means for a first digit from the caller and displays the corresponding telephone number on a display part 2 and when the displayed telephone number is a telephone number desired by the caller, it is connected to the opposite side by pressing a call originating button. When the retrieved result is not the desired telephone number, the storage part 5 is retrieved by using a number detecting means for the next second digit, and the corresponding telephone number is displayed on the display part 2. By repeating this dial operation, the call is connected to the opposite side with the less number of times of dial operations as much as possible.
