Abstract:
Tensioning device has actuator (5) which can exert an axial force, and a tie rod (6) which transmits force to threaded end (1b) of rod (1). Tie rod comprises two jaws (31) which can move radially between a closed position, in which the tie rod is engaged in the rod threaded end, and an open position where the jaws are disengaged from the rod end. Device also has locking element (45) able to move between jaw open and closing positions. Independent claims are included for a threaded rod tension unit and a method of tensioning a threaded rod.
