To provide a terminal of high electrical connection reliability in which excessive deformation in the plate thickness surface of the terminal is prevented, and which can be easily manufactured by providing an over stressed protective part.

Connection parts 2, 2' of a terminal 1 are connected to each other by a narrow connection part 10. The connection part 10 is provided with a protruded tab 16 (an overstressed protective part) at its side edge, and a slight gap S is formed between each side edge 16a of the tab 16 and an end edge 4b, 4b' of the connection parts 2, 2'. As the connection part 2' is flexed in a crossing direction to an axial line of the terminal 1 in a plate thickness surface, the side edge 16a is applied to the end edge 4b, 4b' of the connection part 2' to prevent further flexure.
