Title:
TERTIARY AMINE COMPOUND
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH08134027
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a tertiary amine compound capable of effectively functioning as a photoconductive raw material and being sensitized optically or chemically by a sensitizer such as a dye or a lewis acid and suitably used as the charge transferring substance, etc., in the photosensitive layer of an electrophotographic photosensitive material.

CONSTITUTION: This compound is a tertiary amine compound of formula I (R1 is H, a substitutable alkyl or a substitutable aryl; R2, R3 are each H, a substitutable alkyl, a substitutable aryl or a halogen; Ar1, Ar2 and Ar3 are each a substitutable aryl), e.g. the compound of formula II. The compound is obtained by reacting 1,1-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)-1-[4-bis(p-tolyl) aminophenyl]ethane with phenylchlorocarbonate in the presence of a catalyst (e.g. quinoline). The compound of formula I is particularly useful as a charge transferring substance in a so-called functionally separated-type photosensitizer using an organic or an inorganic pigment as a charge generating substance.
