Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a device which reads an inputted text aloud to perform all of a variety of operations for reading the text aloud only by mere touches on a display screen without impeding display on the display screen.
SOLUTION: The document read-aloud device is equipped with a touch panel input means, a means of deciding a text read-aloud mode and a text non-read-aloud mode, and a means of switching between different 1st and 2nd input modes according to the input mode of the touch panel input means between the text read-aloud mode and text non-read-aloud mode. Consequently, even when the same operation is done, input for page switching in the text read-aloud mode or input for mode switching in the text non-read-aloud mode is enabled.
