PURPOSE: To provide the subject apparatus capable of quickly and efficiently thawing a food, easy to putting a food into or taking out of the apparatus and producible at a low cost by allowing thawed water to flow in a thawing tank and immersing a frozen food in the flowing water to effect the thawing of the food.

CONSTITUTION: The objective apparatus is composed of a top-opened thawing water tank 1 containing a thermoregulator 15, a forced circulation mechanism 9 for thawed water to return the thawed water discharged from the thawed water tank to the tank and a frozen food holder 17 made of a net, etc., and able to be freely put into or pulled out of the thawed water tank 1. The thawed water in the thawed water tank 1 is constantly flowing by the action of the forced circulation mechanism 9. The temperature of the thawed water in the thawed water tank l is maintained to an optimum level for thawing and the frozen food held in the frozen-food holder 17 and put into the thawing tank 1 can be thawed in high efficiency by the flowing action of the thawed water.
