PURPOSE: To obtain the subject low-toxic therapeutic agent containing, as active ingredient, a specific homopiperazine derivative, having excellent recovering action on cardiac function lowered by the ischemic/reperfusion disorder of mycardium.
CONSTITUTION: This therapeutic agent contains, as active ingredient, a compound (an acid-added salt or hydrate thereof) of the formula (R1-R6 are each a lower alkoxyl; A and A' are each a lower alkylene){e.g. N,N'-bis-[4-(3,4,5- trimethoxyphenyl)butyl]homopiperazine}. The formulation of this therapeutic agent is e.g. tablets, capsules, granules, powder, injection, suppository. The daily dose of this agent, in terms of the active ingredient, is 0.1-1000mg/adult, and the agent is administered in one to three portions either orally or through injection.
