PURPOSE: To provide satisfactory contact of the thermister element and obtain normal characteristics steadily by introducing a hollow disclike base between the inner bottom of a cylindrical case and one electrode surface of a thermister element.

CONSTITUTION: A hollow disclike base 20 of a conductor is introduced inbetween the inner bottom 6 of a cylindrical case and the electrode surface 5 of a thermister element 2. Consequently, the one electrode surface 5 of the element 2 is pressed against the case 1 surface by means of a pressure spring 4 through the base 20, while the other electrode surface 7 is pressed against the electrode substrate 3. Under this constitution, when the case 1 is processed through cutting, the element 2 is pressed against the surface 6 in a satisfacory contact condition at the hollow part of the base 20, even if a protrusion is left at the center of the surface 6. Thus, it is possible to prevent the element 2 from becoming loose or an increase in the contact resistance, and in turn, to make the best of its normal characteristics in a steady way.
