Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent the temperature at a measurement point from varying and to improve measurement accuracy by inserting a couple of thermocouple wires coated with electric insulating films into a fitting hole which penetrates a base body having the same thermal properties with a body to be measured, sticking a metal thin film on the tip surface of the base body, and connecting the tip end surfaces of the couple of thermocouple wires and forming a contact for measurement. CONSTITUTION:When a thin film thermometer is manufactured, the cylindrical base body 1 is manufactures by using metal, i.e. cast iron which has the same thermal properties with the internal combustion engine made of, for example, cast iron to be measured. Further, the thermocouple wires 3 and 4 which are sectioned semicircularly are manufactured by using a couple of thermocouple metal materials and covered with the electric insulating films 5 to desired thickness. The thermocouple wires 3 and 4 are arrayed in parallel having their plane parts opposite each other and inserted into the fitting hole 2, the base body is pressed equally in the center axis direction from its outer peripheral surface, and the thermocouple wires 3 and 4 are fitted in the fitting hole 2 across their outer peripheral electric insulating films 5. The base body 1 and the polished tip surfaces of the thermocouples 3 and 4 are cleaned with an ultrasonic wave and a metallic thin film 6 of gold, etc., is stuck by vacuum deposition, etc., to make the tip end surfaces conductive, thereby obtaining the temperature contact of the thermocouple, i.e. measurement contact.
