Title:
THERMOPLASTIC PARTICULATE CONTAINING CARBOXYLIC ACID-BASED SINTERING AUXILIARY, AND LAYERING SHAPING USING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2022065642
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
To provide a thermoplastic polymer particulate for three-dimensional printing having satisfactory flow characteristics in a solid state.SOLUTION: A layering shaping process characterized by solidification of thermoplastic particulates can form printed objects having a certain range of shapes. Nanoparticles that are arranged on an outer face of the thermoplastic particulate can improve a flow performance of the thermoplastic particulate during the layering shaping, but can lead to excessive porousness after solidification. The excessive porousness can be harmful for applications of performances, which require high mechanical strength. Carboxylic acid-based sintering auxiliaries, in particular, metal carboxylates can reduce the porousness of a solidified component after sintering, without substantially increasing blocking in a powder bed. A particulate composition suitable for the layering shaping can include a plurality of thermoplastic particulates that contains a carboxylic acid-based sintering auxiliary mixed with a thermoplastic polymer, and a plurality of nanoparticles arranged on the outer faces of the thermoplastic particulates.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
