Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a thermoreversible gel stable and improved as liquid medical carrier to be used for a Galenic preparation applicable to eyes and mucosa of body cavity, comprising a block copolymer composed of a poloxamer and a carbomer. CONSTITUTION: This thermoreversible gel comprises 10-30wt.% of a block copolymer composed of an α-hydro-ω-hydroxypoly(oxyethylene)/poly(oxypropylene)/poly(oxyethylene) (poloxamer) of the formula ((a) is 2-130; (b) is 15-67; the total ratio of a polyethylene unit is 20-90wt.% of a copolymer having 1,000-16,000 molecular weight), 0.01-5wt.% of a carboxyvinyl polymer (carbomer) having 1×10<6> -4×10<6> molecular weight, a base for adjusting pH 4-8, 20-85wt.% of water and an ordinary auxiliary. The gel has thermorheological properties and about 25-37 deg.C gel temperature.
