PURPOSE: To form a coating film excellent in decorativeness and film properties such as scratch, acid and weather resistances without encountering problems in coating based on, e.g. the 2-coat 1-bake system by mixing a specified acrylic copolymer with a specified amino resin in a specified ratio, adding a colorant and/or a luster pigment to the mixture, applying the resulting mixture, and curing the wet film by heating.
CONSTITUTION: 40-90wt.% acrylic copolymer obtained by copolymerizing 3-40wt.% (meth)acrylic ester(AE) having an alicyclic or aromatic hydrocarbon group with 10-60wt.% hydroxylated AE of the formula: CH2=C(R1)COOR2 (wherein R1 is H or methyl; and R2 is as defined in the specification), 2-60wt.% aromatic vinyl monomer (VM), 5-50wt.% AE having a 4 C or higher aliphatic hydrocarbon group, 0.3-10wt.% carboxylated VM, 2-40wt.% hydroxylated AE other than the above of the formula, and 0-50wt.% other VMs is mixed with 10-60wt.% amino resin.
