Title:
THICK FILM TYPE THERMAL HEAD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03222761
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of scratch rupture without deteriorating printing efficiency by a method wherein a first overcoat layer is formed by printing and burning glass paste containing a specified amount of fillers and a second overcoat layer is formed by thin film arts by using a rigid material.

CONSTITUTION: A heat generating resistor 6, an individual electrode 4, and a common electrode 5 are covered with an overcoat layer 7. The overcoat layer 7 is formed such that a second overcoat layer 7b is laminated on a first overcoat layer 7a. The first overcoat layer 7a is formed such that amorphous glass paste is printed on an underglaze layer 3 and burnt. A substance where 30-60% filler is added to glass is used for the glass paste of which the first overcoat layer 7a. Meanwhile, the second overcoat layer 7b is formed by spattering a rigid material, e.g. sialon.
