Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a three-dimensional image composition/display device which can compose the images with correct three-dimensional relation based on the display surface depth (Z buffer) value and without integrating the three- dimensional data, can select an optimum rendering parameter in every area of interest for the composition of images with high picture quality, and furthermore can compose the optional opacity in every area of interest.
CONSTITUTION: A three-dimensional image composition/display device is provided with a storage which stores the three-dimensional data, a computer which processes the volume rendering and the composition of images, a display, and a device which inputs the coordinates of the display. In such a constitution, a volume rendering function 211 is added to turn the three-dimensional data into the visible data, together with a function 220 which extracts an area of interest, a function 221 which applies the volume rendering to the extracted area of interest, and the functions 211 and 221 which acquire the voxels most concerned in the display as the display surface depth (Z buffer) value in a volume rendering mode.
