Abstract:

PURPOSE: To realize a three-dimensional picture display system in which the perspective state of a three-dimensional picture displayed on a computer monitor can be changed like a person views an object.
CONSTITUTION: A transmission module 10 mounted on the head of an operator transmits the supersonic signal of a prescribed frequency in a prescribed time interval, and supersonic microphones 18, 20, and 22 arranged in the surrounding of a display monitor 16 receive the supersonic signal. An interface unit 28 converts the signal received by each supersonic microphone 18, 20, and 22 into plural data indicating an immediate distance between the display monitor 16 and the head of an operator 14. A picture processing computer 38 controls the perspective display configuration of a three-dimensional picture displayed on the monitor 16 according to the plural data.
