PURPOSE: To enhance noise rejection without a defect of longitudinal distortion or the like by judging the level of vertical correlation from a level of a three- line signal and applying deep comb-line filter processing only when the correlation is low.
CONSTITUTION: A difference signal between a 1st delay signal outputted through a 1st delay line 31 and other two signals among three-line signals obtained by 1st and 2nd delay lines 31, 32 is obtained from 1st and 2nd attenuators 4, 5. Moreover, changeover sections 6, 7 selecting output signals of the 1st and 2nd attenuators 4, 5 are provided, a resulting output signal is sent to a 3rd subtractor 11 via an amplitude limit circuit 9 and a level adjustment circuit 10, in which a difference signal between the 1st delay signal and the output signal of the level adjustment circuit 10 is generated. Then the vertical correlation is judged from the relation of quantity of levels of the three-line signals so as to control the filter in a way that the signal level difference gets larger when the correlation is low. Thus, improvement of noise elimination and reduction in a defect of longitudinal distortion or the like are made compatible.
