To enhance a partial cooling of a furnace body (a side wall) without cessation of operation of a three-phase AC electrode type circular electric furnace.
In this invention, at a position where a temperature of furnace side wall is partially increased under a high temperature atmosphere generated in the furnace by a three-phase AC electrode 3 of a three-phase AC electrode type circular electric furnace 10, used for dissolution processing of raw material ore, having a furnace side wall refractory material layer 14 constituting a furnace side wall 11 at an outer periphery part, high heat conductive metallic round bars 40 are spaced apart and buried from outside the furnace side wall 11 into the furnace down to a prescribed depth position under a state in which one of their ends are protruded out of the furnace side wall 11, and heat is removed from the furnace side wall refractory layers 14 in the furnace through the metallic round bars 40 to outside one end of the furnace side wall 11.
