The throat plate of eyelet darning sewing machine comprises a needlebar 2 that moves up and down and at the same time travels in a needle swing direction in linking with the spindle of the sewing machine, loopers 8a and 8b that are located at the lower position of a throat plate 6 and are rocked in synchronization with the needle bar, spreaders 10a and 10b that are rocked in synchronization with the loopers and at the same time can be opened or closed to the loopers, a feed bar 3 that can move cloth crosswise, and a turning means 7 for turning the needlebar, the loopers, the spreaders, and the throat plate, while the stitch of the eyelet darning comprising straight sections 16 and 20 and an arc section 18 is formed. In the throat plate, a projection 26 is formed on the lower surface of the throat plate, at the same time a string engagement surface 26a of the projection is arranged at the side surface of a needle hole at the side of a direction G opposite to a direction for feeding cloth to the throat plate, and between outer needle locations 16b and 18b, and inner needle locations 16a and 18a.
