Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thrust deflecting device for an aircraft, improving the effectiveness of thrust deflection of a thrust steering angle and producing efficient thrust deflection.
SOLUTION: A conical plate 1 is mounted at the end of an outlet of an exhaust port 20 of an engine and four paddles 21 are turnably mounted around the outlet of the exhaust port 20. Injection holes 2 are made in the plate 1 at the sides of the paddles 21 for blowing a jet 3. The jet 3 is deflected by the deflection of the paddles 21 and thrust is deflected by its reaction. Since the jet 3 is injected near the paddles 21 to generate the core of a flow near the paddles. The low velocity of the flow is improved near the paddles 21 and the non-linear effectiveness of the thrust deflection in a small steering angle region is improved, resulting in efficient deflection.
