To provide a thrust roller bearing which offers excellent bearing assemblability, low cost and large load capacity while enhancing strength of a retainer by integrally forming the whole retainer.
The thrust roller bearing is equipped with raceway boards (an axial raceway board 2 and a housing raceway board 4) relatively rotatably arranged so as to face each other, a plurality of rolling elements (rollers) 6 disposed so as to freely rollable between the raceway surfaces of the bearing washers facing each other and a cage 8 having a plurality of pockets 8p for freely rotatably holding one of a plurality of rolling elements respectively. The retainer is configured as a single body, and integrally formed with a pocket retaining the individual rolling elements 8 arranged with a clearance between the raceway surfaces at established intervals in a peripheral direction. An escape part 8n which is always in non-contact with the rolling element is provided to four corners of each pocket of the retainer.
