Title:
THUNDER RESISTANT SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2004096958
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a thunder resistant system substantially obtaining no service interruption by shortening a power interruption time for protecting an apparatus from a thunder surge, and capable of automatically being restored.

The thunder resistant system 1 comprises a state changeover switch 13, an antecedent phenomenon detection means 14, a thunder stroke detection means 15, an operation control means 16, an electromagnetic wave measuring means 191, and an electrostatic field measuring means 192. According to the thunder resistant system, a lightning stroke is detected by the antecedent phenomenon detection means 14 and the thunder stroke detection means 15, a load 3 is disconnected from a power cable by the state changeover switch 13 for only a period necessary for protecting the apparatus from the thunder surge caused by the lightning stroke. By shortening the power interruption time for protecting the apparatus from the thunder surge for connecting the load 3 to the power cable after the antecedent phenomenon disappears, no service interruption is substantially obtained, thus causing no operation stop of the load 3 and the restart thereof or the like.
