Abstract:
To provide a tilting pad type journal bearing capable of suppressing ununiformity of a bearing oil film in an axial direction simply to prevent generation of thermal bending vibration while suppressing force of destabilizing the swinging vibration of a rotor, and a rotary machine comprising the journal bearing.SOLUTION: A tilting pad type journal bearing 1 comprises a housing 7 through which a rotor 2 is inserted, and a plurality of tiltable pads 3 arranged between the rotor 2 and the housing 7. Also, the tilting pad type journal bearing 1 comprises two non-contact surfaces 4b, 5a existing between an outer surface 3a of the pad 3 and an inner surface 7b of the housing 7. The two surfaces 4b, 5a each have uniaxial pivots P1, P2 in which the orientations of the axes serving as the center of tilt are different from each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
