Abstract:
A pneumatic vehicle tyre includes crown reinforcing belt comprising two or more plies (6) of parallel cords inclined to the circumferential direction of the tyre, the cords (7) of at least one ply (6) being made of steel or a similarly inextensible material and being subdivided by discontinuities (8) into aligned portions (9), for increasing puncturing resistance. Each cord (7) may be interrupted three times between the ply edges, and the discontinuities may be provided only in a central zone of the belt. The cords (7) may be in groups, of e.g. four, with discontinuities at the same points, but with the discontinuities staggered from group to group.
