Abstract:
To provide a titanium alloy, a titanium alloy bar, a titanium alloy plate, and an engine valve that maintain ductility and are excellent in fatigue characteristics.SOLUTION: An α+β type titanium alloy of Ti-5Al-2Fe-3Mo base or Ti-6Al-4V base has a two-phase structure composed of an α phase and a β phase, and a maximum area of a segregation abnormal part of the concentration of elements Al, Fe, Mo, and V in a cross section of 2,000 μm2 or less. The segregation abnormal part of the concentration of elements Al, Fe, Mo, and V in a cross section means an aggregate of neighboring measurement points that deviate from average value ±1 mass% of Al and Fe, average value ±1.5 mass% of Mo, and average value ±2 mass% of V in EPMA plane analysis. There are thus provided a titanium alloy, a titanium alloy bar, a titanium alloy plate, and an engine valve that are excellent in fatigue characteristics and ductility.SELECTED DRAWING: None
