Abstract:
A 2-hydroxypropanediamine derivative represented by general formula (1), a salt or a quaternized derivative thereof, and a detergent composition containing the same, wherein R<1> and R<2> represent each C6-C36 linear or branched alkyl or akenyl; X represents C1-C36 alkylene or alkenylene which may be substituted by hydroxyl, sulfo or carboxyl; Y<1> represents sulfonate residue, sulfate residue or carboxyl; Y<2> represents hydroxyl, sulfate residue or -OC(=O)XCOOH; and n represents 0 or 1. This compounds is reduced in the irritativeness against the skin or hair, excellent in foaming ability, and soft to the touch.
