PURPOSE: To recognize the picture quality improvement by correction at a glance by displaying the corrected image synthesized based on the corrected delay quantity and the corrected load and the original image synthesized based on the original delay quantity and the original load on the same screen.
CONSTITUTION: A correction section constituted of an average amplitude calculation section 8-l, a time delay calculation section 9-l, a load control signal calculation section 10, and a delay control signal calculation section 11 corrects the delay quantity (delay time) and load (amplitude) with signals R1-Rn received by multiple electric sound converting elements 4-1. The corrected delay quantity and corrected load are switched with the preset original delay quantity and original load by a focus switching section 17 synchronously with the line synchronous signal or frame synchronous signal from a controller 19, the corrected image data synthesized based on the corrected delay quantity and corrected load and the original image data synthesized based on the original delay quantity and original load are stored in memories 15-2, 15-1 respectively, and the corrected image and the original image are concurrently displayed on a display 18 together with symbols identifying the presence or absence of correction.
