Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the coefficients of static friction and dynamic friction, and reduce resistance, noise, and wear of blades by forming the blade tips of an air motor into an acutely inclined shape to reduce the contact area with a cylinder, and thereby increasing the bearing pressure. CONSTITUTION:With this air motor, a rotor 2 having plural blades 3 is inserted- fitted into a cylinder 1, and an upper cap and a lower cap are provided at both end parts of the cylinder to support the rotor 2 by means of ball bearings so that the rotor can freely rotate. The blades 3 are made up of plate members and slidably inserted-fitted into blade-grooves 2a, and an inclined face is formed on each of the blade tip parts in the rotating direction, at a predetermined inclined angle. The blade tips are chamfered into an acutely inclined shape to reduce the contact area with the cylinder and thus increase the bearing pressure to reduce the coefficients of static friction and dynamic friction. Thus, higher operating efficiency of the air motor can be obtained, and the reduction in wear, vibration, noise of the tip parts of the blades, and the prolongation of service life of the blades can be achieved.
