PURPOSE:To provide the subject composition having specific apparent properties, excellent in moldability and transparency, useful for information recording medium substrates with good transferability, comprising several kinds of random copolymer between ethylene and specific cyclic olefin(s). CONSTITUTION:The objective composition having an intrinsic vescosity (y) of 0.2-0.7dl/g and a ratio of weight-average molecular weight/number-average molecular weight (Mw/Mn) of >=3, comprising two or more kinds of cyclic olefin random copolymers having intrinsic viscositics (y) of >=0.10dl/g (in decalin at 135 deg.C), Mw/Mn of <=4 (measured by GPC) and softening points of >=70 deg.C, where the cyclic olefin random copolymers are obtained by copolymesrizing (A) ethylene and at least one kind of (B) cyclic olefin of formula I (R<1>-R<18>. R and R are each H, halogen, etc., where R<15>-R<18> may be combined into a single cycle or polycycle; n is 0 or 1; m is >=0; q is 0 or 1) or formula II (R<1>-R<15> are each H, halogen, alkoxy, etc.; r is >=0; s and t are each 0, 1 or 2).
