Title:
MODIFIED CATALYST FOR HYDROGENATION OF HEAVY HYDROCARBON
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5830334
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a catalyst having excellent activity by allowing the group VI catalytic metals in the Periodic Table to be supported on catalytic carrier particles composed of spherical anhydrous aluminum beads and, if required, allowing the group VIII promoter metal to be supported thereon. CONSTITUTION: Alumina partially dehydrated at the time of forming particles is rehydrated and is then calcined to change this alumina into substantially anhydrous alumina. On the obtd. catalytic carrier particles composed of spherical alumina beads of about 0.1 to 1 mm average particle size, at least one kind of catalytic metal selected from the VI group in the Periodic Table (such as Mo) and, if required, at least one kind of promoter metal selected from the group VIII (such as Co and Ni) is supported. In the presence of this catalyst for hydrotreating, a liq. such as hydrocarbon is brought into contact with hydrogen under the hydrotreating conditions for removing sulfur compds., nitrogen compds. or metals or under the hydrotreating conditions for changing the heavy hydrocarbon component in this liq. into a light hydrocarbon component or the component in the combination of them.
