PURPOSE: To smoothly feed a lowermost paper sheet charged with static electricity and attached to a stacking stand without affecting automatic feeding performance and image quality using an automatic paper feeding mechanism in which a plurality of paper sheets stacked in a stacking portion are automatically separated from one another and fed one by one.
CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical driven roller 1 is disposed at the lowest dropping point of a transfer roller 2 and slightly below the stacking face of a stacking stand 6 on which paper sheets 23 are stacked, and a rectangular notch for pressing against the driven roller 1 the transfer roller 2 which is lowered with the feed of paper sheets is provided in the stacking stand 6. When the paper sheets 23 have been fed and some remain at the lowermost portion, the driven roller 1 is rotated by the transfer roller 2 via the paper sheets 23. The paper sheets 23 overcome resistance caused by static electricity and are therefore easily conveyed to the last one.
