Title:
PRODUCTION OF FIBROUS CARRIER FOR IMMOBILIZED ENZYME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6047680
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce the titled carrier capable of firmly immobilizing enzymes, by contacting a fibrous material with a plasma gas, thereby modifying the surface of the fiber and introducing the reaction group capable of bonding readily with an enzyme.

CONSTITUTION: A fibrous material (e.g. polyolefin, polyamide, acrylic fiber, etc.) is made to contact with a plasma gas having a partial pressure of ≤1mmHg (e.g. plasma of H2-He, Ar-O2, etc.). The surface of the fiber can modified, and a reaction group capable of forming a bond easily with an enzyme is introduced to the surface by this process to obtain the titled carrier capable of firmly immobilizing an enzyme. The reaction product can be produced in high reproducibility by controlling the factors of the plasma treatment condition. The objective carrier is produced by properly combining the component of the plasma gas, the treatment pressure, the flow rate, the kind of electric source, power, frequency, type of electrical discharge, position of electrode, and the form of the fiber to be treated.
