Abstract:
The invention relates to a device and method for the production of castings, whereby the material is placed in a chamber with moveable walls under pressure, then, subsequently forced from the chamber and, finally, injected into a mould. The injector unit comprises a chamber with two moveable walls, which are optionally displaceable, either together in one direction, or counter to each other, in such a way that the inner volume of the chamber is optionally either adjustable and/or displaceable. Said unit may be controlled, such that the volume thereof corresponds as accurately as possible to the volume of material contained in the chamber.
