Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a wire material of high mechanical strength having good adhesion among the elements of a superconducting layer with a desired thickness by applying heat treatment for diffusing the constituent elements of a coating layer and a substrate from one another, and generating a uniform superconductor along the intermediate layer of the wire material over the entire length thereof. CONSTITUTION:A core material 2 comprising an oxidation-resistant metal such as Ni and Ti is inserted in a substrate 1 comprising an A-B-Cu system alloy, thereby preparing a complex 3. A stands for one or more elements in the group IIIa of the periodic table such as La, Ce, Yb, Sc, Er and Ho, and B stands for one or more elements in the group IIa the periodic table such as Ba, Mg, Ca and Sr. An extrusion and grooved roll processes apply to the complex 3, thereby forming a tape material 4. And the powder of BaO and the like are applied thereto, and a coating layer 5 and a coated complex 6 are made. The complex 6 is heat treated in an inert gas and in intermediate layer 7 comprising Y, Ba and Cu is formed at the boundary of the coating layer 5 and the substrate 1. Thereafter, the complex 6 is heated at the predetermined temperature and during the predetermined time in the atmosphere of oxide containing an O2 gas, and annealed to a room temperature. And each element of the intermediate layer 7 is diffused and made to react, thereby obtaining a superconducting wire material 8 containing an oxide superconducting layer 9.
