Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a warp yarn sizing agent, composed of a polymeric compound of specific three polymeric components, excellent in sizing agent stability and capable of uniformly sizing the warp yarn and manifesting excellent weaving properties.

CONSTITUTION: This warp yarn sizing agent for spin yarn is obtained by blending (C) 1-300 pts.wt. starchy compound, prepared by carrying out the graft copolymerization of 1-50 pts.wt. olefinic monomer containing carboxyl group with 100 pts.wt. starch and having ≤1000cP viscosity of a 10wt.% aqueous solution at 90°C with (A) 100 pts.wt. starch and (B) 50-500 pts.wt. polyvinyl alcoholic resin. This sizing agent is good in compatibility of a sizing liquid and further sizing operation efficiency, stable for a long period and capable of providing homogeneously sized yarn and manifesting good weaving properties.
