Abstract:
The present invention relates to the processing of thermoplastic compositions containing or consisting of thermoplastic saturated norbornene polymers containing not more than 3 wt% volatiles. The thermoplastic composition is pelletised by melt extrusion and dried at a high temperature, preferably from 5 to 30 DEG C below the glass transition temperature of the norbornene polymer for 1 hour or more. This procedure is found to prevent formation of microvoids in the resultant composition, and articles made from it by moulding.
